5 Essential Spanish Expressions
Spain's language is full of unique expressions that truly stand out. This week, we're learning phrases that embody the lively and spontaneous nature of Spanish conversations:
The first one is Molar
In Spain, if something 'mola,' it means it's cool or awesome!
For example: La serie βHouse of the Dragonβ mola muchΓsimo. Tienes que verla. - The show βHouse of the Dragonβ is really cool. You have to watch it.
Next is Ser un crack
If someone says you're 'un crack,' it means you're really good at something or you're a total expert!
For Example: Mi hijo es un crack jugando al fΓΊtbol - My son is amazing at soccer.
Number #3 is Liarse
This one means to get confused or mixed up in a situation.
For example: Me liΓ© con las direcciones y lleguΓ© trade. - I got mixed up with the directions and arrived late.'
Number 4 is Majo or Maja
If someone is 'majo,' it means theyβre nice, friendly, or kind.
For example: El profesor de EspaΓ±ol es muy majo - The Spanish teacher is very nice.'
The last one is Se le fue la pinza
This one means someone has lost it or gone crazy!
For example: Juan buscΓ³ sus gafas por horas y las tenΓa puestas. Β‘Definitivamente se le fue la pinza! - Juan looked for her glasses for hours and she was wearing them. He definitely lost it!
