Hola, feliz martes. ΒΏCΓ³mo estΓ‘s?

Una pregunta: Have you ever felt like your Spanish learning has hit a wall? Like you're cruising along but not leveling up? You’re not alone; it happens to all of us.

This week, I’m sharing a little trick to help you break through, plus some fun trivia and a great song to listen to. Β‘Vamos pa’ encima!

Practice Failing to Get Out of the OK Plateau

I’ve been reading this fascinating book called Moonwalking with Einstein, and there’s this idea in it that really hit me. It’s about how we get stuck in the β€œOK plateau” when learning something new. It’s that point where we feel comfortable; we’re not struggling anymore, but we’re also not improving.

The key to breaking out of it? Deliberate practice. And here’s the twist: deliberate practice means putting yourself in situations where you’re likely to fail.

I know that sounds a little scary, but it’s where the magic happens. Try using challenging expreessions you haven’t mastered yet, strike up conversations where you know you’ll be challenged, or review grammar points that make your brain hurt (el subjuntivo 🧠). The goal isn’t perfection; it’s to push your limits and grow.

It’s not easy, but I promise it’s worth it. I’m trying to embrace this myself, not just in language learning but in everything I’m learning. Β‘Vamos, tΓΊ puedes hacerlo!
